Abstract
A novel method for the synthesis of diarylylnaphtho bis([1,3]oxazine) dione/thione derivatives is established by employing one-pot three-component reaction of naphthalene-1,8-diol/naphthalene-1,5-diol, aromatic aldehydes, and urea or thoiurea using a catalytic amount of 4-hydroxypyridinium antimony tetrachloride functionalized silica gel in methanol in excellent yields. The FTIR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR confirm the structures of the products. After synthesis of the compounds, their potential antibacterial and antifungal activities were evaluated, and result showed significant antibacterial activities.
