p-TSA Catalyzed One-Pot Synthesis of 2-(1H-Indol-3-yl)-3-Phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-Ones

Abstract

Herein, we wish to report a p-TSA catalyzed synthesis of a new series of 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-3-phenylquinazolin-4(3H)-ones in methanol at reflux condition. The present protocol has the advantages of simple work up, high yield with shorter reaction time, inexpensive catalyst, easily available starting materials and no need of chromatographic purification. The products were characterized by various spectral techniques.
