Abstract
In this article, a series of curcumin based derivatives are synthesized and characterized by several characterization methods, including 1H NMR and FT-IR, MASS and CHN elemental analysis. Radical scavenging activity of the synthesized compounds is evaluated and it was observed that the compounds have radical scavenging properties. For studying the radical scavenging activity of the synthesized compounds, the 1,l-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) method was applied. The activity of 4,4'-((1E,1'E)-(1-(p-tolyl)-1H-pyrazole-3,5-diyl)bis(ethene-2,1-diyl))bis(2-methoxyphenol) in reaction with DPPH was better than that of curcumin and more active in the studied tests.
