Abstract

This article describes the modeling and optimization of cooling enhancement in typical concentric tubes under 1.7 MHz ultrasonic irradiations. For this study, sufficient experimental data were gathered. For modeling, fuzzy logic was applied to predict an output from the input parameters. The hydraulic conditions of tubes and electric power input to the ultrasonic transducer were selected as the inputs, while the hot side (inner tube) cooling rate was the output. In addition, the imperialist competitive algorithm and the genetic algorithm were utilized for optimization of the output. The obtained results showed that the proposed techniques are sufficiently powerful to predict and optimize cooling enhancement in this model.
