Abstract
The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is used to simulate the double diffusive natural convection of nanofluids (Al2O3 – H2O) in a porous cavity under the action of a magnetic field. The effects on temperature, mass, velocity field, average Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are investigated by changing Rayleigh number (1e3 – 1e5), Darcy number (1e−5 – 1e−3), Hartmann number (0–100), and inclination angle (0–60°). The results show that the porous medium weakens the convection effect. When Ra is small, Ha has less influence on Nuave and Shave. When Ra is larger, the temperature/mass transfer decrease as Ha increases. The influence of Da is basically consistent with Ra. The effect of inclination angle is related to the Da. When Da is small, there is no remarkable influence on heat/mass transfer and velocity field by increasing the inclination angle. As Da increases, inclination angle will weaken temperature and mass transfer.
