Abstract

Based on two analytical approaches (Prandtl model and von Kármán model), turbulent flow in a cylindrical channel with flow slippage on the wall was considered. The results of the analytical solution are supplemented with numerical simulations based on the lattice Boltzmann model (LBM). Validations of the analytical model against numerical computations showed their good agreement. The analytical model enabled obtaining relations for the velocity profile, hydraulic resistance coefficient and Stanton number, which make it possible to evaluate the influence of the slip effect (Kn) and the flow rate (Re) on their variation.
