Thank you to Reviewers for Critical Reviews in Toxicology

(Editor-in-Chief)

This is a public thank you to the individuals who reviewed one or more papers published in Critical Reviews in Toxicology (CRT) in 2022, the 52nd year of publication for the Journal. Reviewing papers, especially papers involving complicated topics such as those published in CRT, requires a great amount of time and mental energy. I recognize this voluntary service and extend a heartfelt thank you to the reviewers for their time and effort. I extend a special thank you to the many individuals who have reviewed multiple papers this year as well as those who have reviewed papers year after year. Without these reviewers the Journal would not exist nor have its high ranking year after year.

Each year we receive a number of emails from authors thanking us for the thorough comments they have received on their manuscripts. To our pleasure, this year we have continued to receive such emails. We are proud of the long-standing reputation Critical Reviews in Toxicology has for providing authors with insightful and constructive reviews. Anticipation of receiving such comments is one reason authors submit their manuscripts to CRT. Many of the reviewers have also authored review manuscripts so they know and appreciate the value of in-depth review comments.

Looking to the future, I invite you to submit your latest high-quality review manuscript to the Journal via ScholarOne for consideration. If you have any questions about the suitability of your prospective review paper for submission to CRT, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am always pleased to review and comment on draft abstracts and Table of Contents as a prelude to formal submission of complete manuscripts through the Taylor & Francis Online submission portal.

As you know, papers accepted for publication in CRT are published online as soon as they complete the production process. Most of the papers are available “open access” so you can download them at no cost irrespective of your institution’s subscription status. I encourage you to periodically visit the CRT site and follow how often papers are downloaded and cited.

Again, I extend my appreciation to all of the external reviewers of manuscripts submitted for consideration during the publication of Volume 52. Their input assisted the authors in publishing papers of high quality on topics of global interest at the interface of toxicological science, public policy, and regulations that protect the health of people and the environment.
