Call for Papers “Psychology of Sports Coaching”

Psychology of Sports Coaching
Despite the long-established role of the applied sport psychology practitioner in working with sports coaches, there has been less attention dedicated to understanding the performance and well-being of this population in comparison. In recent years, however, there has been an increasing focus in research into the psychology of the sports coach (e.g., Mallett & Lara-Bercial, Citation2016; Thelwell, Harwood, & Greenlees, Citation2016). The aim of this special issue is to bridge the gap between research and practice and translate emerging knowledge into an accessible and broad account of the field for practitioners. In line with the scope of JASP, an essential element of any submitted manuscript should be to further thought, theory, and research on applied aspects of the psychology of the sport coach. Hence, we are interested in receiving submissions that report primarily empirical studies drawing on a range of theoretical and methodological perspectives to advance knowledge and understanding in the field, but we will also consider systematic reviews, position papers, case studies or practitioner reflective accounts.
Topics for the special issue may include but are not limited to:

Manuscript Submissions
Expressions of interest are invited in the form of a 200 word abstract summarizing the proposed submission to the Journal Editor Professor Stephen Mellalieu [email protected] by January 12, 2018. Following screening, authors will be invited to submit full versions of the manuscript by May 4, 2018. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the JASP “instructions to authors” guidelines (for complete instructions for authors, click here).
JASP receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/uasp. ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform.
