The Pierian Spring: A survey of the essential material in our fields

Abstract

What ten works are regarded as most essential for beginning graduate students in each of the four broad areas of the communication arts and sciences—speech, drama, pathology‐audiology, and radio‐TV? This question was asked of all departments offering graduate degrees in these areas; the results of that survey are reported below.
