Abstract
Communication consultants can help increase organizational effectiveness by therapeutically applying communication research, especially interpretive research, to organizational development. A six‐step cyclic model of therapeutic organizational communication consultation is described and an organizational development study is presented to illustrate how the therapeutic model of organizational communication consultation has been applied.
