Abstract

Synthesis of new α-functionalized thiocamptothecins (TCPT) by the N,S-containing heterocyclic bases and monosaccharide moieties has been reported. The silver(I) complexes were obtained from the substituted TCPTs depending of the experimental conditions such as type of the solvents, pH, molar ratio metal to ligands, and more. The structures of the new compounds, both the ligands and the coordination compounds, were confirmed by electronic absorption (EAs), diffuse reflectance (Ds) and fluorescence (Fs) spectroscopy, IR and Raman methods, NMR spectroscopy, as well as mass spectrometry (MS). Quantum chemical DFT calculations for gas phase and solution were performed to correlate and support the experimental physical properties.
