GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

Abstract

A series of biologically active phenoxy derivatives of 2-substituted benzoxazole organophosphates have been synthesized by the reaction of S-(benzoxazolyl-2)phosphorodichloridothioate/phosphorodichloridodithioate with phenol/4-chlorophenol/4-nitrophenol in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratio. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, and 31P NMR spectral studies. The antibacterial activity of these 2-substituted benzoxazolephenoxy derivatives has been evaluated against pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (+ve) and Escherichia coli (–ve). The antifungal activity of these 2-substituted benzoxazolephenoxy derivatives has been evaluated against pathogenic fungi Aspergillusniger and Fusariumoxysporium. All the compounds were found to have moderate antibacterial and antifungal activity.
