Abstract
Some novel phosphorus-rich [3]ferrocenophanes are reported with PPP or NPN bridge. The P-bridged ferrocenophanes are obtained from the corresponding diphosphenes by intramolecular thermal 2+2 addition. The reactivity of the diphosphenes toward hydrochlorination is explored as well. The NPN ferrocenophane is has been obtained via salt metathesis and is one of the rare examples of this compound class. Besides spectroscopic characterization, its structure was elucidated with X-ray crystallography.
