Abstract

OutstandingFootnotescientists such as Carl Ziegler and Theodor W. Hänsch declared: curiosity and scientific interests represent emotion for basic research and should be a major driving force for scientists. Compounds X(NSO)2 prepared according to proved to be appropriate intermediates which react with MF5 (M = As, Sb, and Nb) in a multistep process providing unexpected heterocycles.

On a long winding way, reactions of Te(NSO)2 with SbCl5 or TeCl4 with (CH3)3Si-N = S = N-Si(CH3)3 provided unexpected results. For the first time, ring and cage structures with three different chalcogens (S, Se, and Te) were synthesized:

Fluorine substituted compounds cannot be made by metathesis. They are synthesized from directly available synthons.
