Foreword to ICPC-2016 special issue

(Editor-in-Chief)

It is my great pleasure to offer this special issue of Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements wholly dedicated to the chemistry presented by dozens of world-class scientists at the International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry, ICPC-2016, held in Kazan. This is the latest in a series of highly successful meetings that brings researchers and teachers from the phosphorus chemistry community together.

The wonderful organization of the conference and subsequent submission of more than 100 accepted papers from a broad range of phosphorus chemistry topics related to the themes of the meeting are a testament to the high regard in which our colleague, Professor Oleg Sinyashin—Chairman of ICPC-2016, is held.

The special issue is divided into collections of papers that represent plenary lectures, keynote talks, oral presentations, and poster contributions that were reviewed, and accepted, by the Scientific Organizing Committee.

I would like to thank Taylor and Francis and Managing Editor Kaleigh Sunday for her work on developing our relationship with the organizers of ICPC-2016, Professor Yulia Budnikova from the A. E. Arbuzov Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry in Kazan for her rapid communications with us, and our journal's European Editor, Professor Konstantin Karaghiosoff, for his excellent editorial help.

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements Editorial Board Member, Professor Yufen Zhao, was honored with the presentation of the International Arbuzovs Prize in Phosphorus Chemistry for 2015 at the meeting. My earlier foreword provided additional details about this announcement. Editorial Board Member, Professor György Keglevich (Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary), will serve as the organizing chair and host for the next International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry in 2018.

With my very best wishes,
