Synthesis, phase formation, crystal structure of M0.5(1+x)FexZr2-x(PO4)3 phosphates, M – transition metals in +2 oxidation state

Abstract

Phosphates M0.5(1+x)FexZr2-x(PO4)3 (M – Ni, Cu, Zn, Mn) of scandium tungstate related structure were synthesized via sol-gel method (including Pechini technique). The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, electron microscopy and microprobe analysis. Composition and temperature regions of solid solutions existence in the studied systems were revealed. The Rietveld refinement was implemented for crystal structure of Mn0.65Fe0.3Zr1.7(PO4)3 to be characterized.
