Editor’s Remarks

Editor's Remarks for International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry – ICPC 23

This collection of sixty accepted plenary, oral and poster papers from ICPC 23 represent an excellent cross-section of submissions for the virtual conference held in July 2021, originating from Częstochowa, Poland.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and the Related Elements Editorial Board member, Professor Jozef Drabowicz was a magnificent Conference Chair, and I am delighted to have joined with him to develop the submissions presented here. He was ably supported in his role as Guest Editor for the special issue by Prof. Dr. Piotr Kiełbasiński, D.Sc (CBMM) and Prof. Dr. Tomasz Cierpiał (CBMM). My thanks to all three of them.

The International Steering and National Advisory Board of this long-standing series of conferences continue to create impressive scientific gatherings and this journal is glad to be associated with the dissemination of important and contemporary work in phosphorus chemistry. I would like to note the work of Drs. Frank Ebetino (University of Rochester) and Charles McKenna (University of Southern California) as co-chairs of the International Steering Committee for ICPC. Taylor and Francis provided financial support for the meeting, and I am appreciative of the work of our Managing Editor, Kaleigh Sunday, who operationalizes the contracts with the conference planners, and our Production Editor, Jacqueline Carrick who provides great assistance in creating the final look of this special issue.

While we were unable to meet in person, we were able (despite a multitude of time zones for participants), capture a conference photo. Professor Cierpial provided the picture.

With my very best wishes,
