This collection of accepted papers from ISOCS-29 exemplifies an exciting and noteworthy selection of plenary talks, oral contributions and poster presentations from the conference held in Guelph, Canada from July 17-22, 2022. They were peer reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee and accepted by the Guest Editors.
Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and the Related Elements was pleased to join with the Scientific and Organizing Committee under the competent organization of Conference Chair, Professor Adrian Schwan, from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Guelph, in presenting these 15 papers. The conference’s themes including sulfur in biochemistry and health, sulfur containing heterocycles, synthesis, catalysis and stereochemistry, sensors, analysis and interfaces, materials chemistry, theory, mechanism and reactive intermediates and industrial and sustainable sulfur chemistry are represented among these accepted contributions. You will note that our regular issues of the journal also feature topics such as these.
I would like to extend my warm appreciation to the Scientific and Organizing Committees of ISOCS-29 especially the local organizing members and the guest editors, Profs. Adrian Schwan, Jakob Magolan, France-Isabelle Auzanneau and James Gauld. Our publisher, Taylor and Francis, provided financial support for the conference, and I am appreciative of the work of our Portfolio Manage, Kaleigh Sunday, who operationalizes the contracts with the conference planners, and our Production Editor, Monikaa who provides a large degree of assistance in creating the final look of this special issue.
