Abstract

The reactions of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazatriene and octachlorocyclotetraphosphazatetraene with pentaerythritol give rise to spirane derivatives, N3P3CI4[(OCH2)2C(CH2O)2]N3P3Cl4, and N4P4Cl6-[(OCH2)2C(CH2O)2]N4P4Cl6, as well as to a spiro/ansa. N3P3Cl4[(OCH2)2C(CH2O)2]N3P3Cl4 and a spiro-open-chain, N3P3Cl4[(OCH2)2C(CH2OH)2] derivative. N.m.r. investigations of these products are reported.
