Abstract
We have prepared nanocrystalline ZnO–CdO composites, for the first time, by using some simple solvothermal methods. The prepared samples were annealed to improve the ordering. Grain size and material composition were determined by X-ray powder diffraction (PXRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) measurements. UV-Vis-NIR spectral measurements indicate a change in the bandgap energy of Zn x Cd1−x O from 2.24 to 3.06 eV when x is changed from 0 to 1.
