In the article “Attitudes Toward Gay Men and Lesbian Women Among Heterosexual Social Work Faculty,” by Jill M. Chonody, Michael R. Woodford, David J. Brennan, Bernie Newman, and Donna Wang, published in Journal of Social Work Education, vol. 50, no. 1, pp. 136–152, the reported age range in Table 2 should have been 26–81. In addition to this, the abstract was incorrect. Here is the correct version:
This study reports the results of a national study concerning sexual prejudice toward gay men and lesbian women among heterosexual social work faculty. Supplementing sociodemographics, we investigate the role of political ideology, sexism, and interest in sexuality/LGBTQ issues—three variables not previously examined among social work faculty. Results suggest that sexual prejudice toward these groups is low and not significantly different. Although bivariate and multivariate analyses identified predictors common to each outcome, important differences were found at both levels of analysis. Strategies are recommended to reduce sexual prejudice among social work faculty.
