Piecing Together/Performing a History: Grace, Accountability, and Action in My Own Coming to Performance Studies

Abstract

This essay traces my path in coming to performance studies as a discipline. I weave together personal narrative and historical memory to articulate a collective sense of responsibility and grace in sharing the specific legacy of my own path to performance studies. Subsequently, I call for a reimagining of disciplinary identity outside the familial model.
