Elizabeth Morgan: Pioneer female labor agitator

Abstract

This article explores Elizabeth Morgan's efforts to improve the working conditions of Chicago women during the 1890's. When she altered her rhetorical strategy, switching from vituperation to investigative rhetoric, Mrs. Morgan achieved notable success in battling against the sweating system.
