Negro dialect, ethnocentricism, and the distortion of information in the communicative process

Abstract

This article presents research which demonstrates the importance of dialect in evoking stereotypes in ethnocentric listeners, and the subsequent effects of those stereotypes on the directional distortion of information processing.
