Some problems in dissonance theory research

Abstract

In exploring problems in dissonance research, the author postulates that findings in this area “may, in some cases, be the result of weak experimental designs. Further examination reveals that attitudes often do not change as easily as some of the investigations suggest, but changes are a product of repeated exposures and varieties of appeals.
