Rhetoric and knowledge among some contemporary Marx‐Leninists

Pages 153-159 | Published online: 22 May 2009

The author argues that the work of several contemporary Marx‐Leninists represents a re‐discovery of the rhetorical enterprise. The Marx‐Leninists appear to: (1) recognize as knowledge only that which is instrumental in human decision and the subsequent transformation of social reality; (2) see the problem of truth as a problem of rhetorical deliberation; and (3) define ideology as political rhetoric.
