Rhetoric and epistemology from an action theory perspective

This essay argues that rhetorical knowledge is a justified and true practical action. Rhetorical action creates this knowledge by forging the collective social norms that serve as appropriate goals for action, and by offering the most efficacious, socially acceptable means for fulfillment of those goals in the practical situation.
