Abstract
Many institutions wish to offer a path for students pursuing actuarial careers but lack the student demand to offer new courses or hire additional faculty. Fortunately, a program training students to enter the profession can often be constructed using existing courses and well-informed advising.

Paul T. Taylor
Paul T. Taylor is an Associate Professor at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 and his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. He joined the faculty at Shippensburg University in 2006 after postdoctoral work at McMaster University. His graduate work was in classical harmonic analysis. Since then he has developed interests in mathematical modeling and actuarial sciences.
