Strategic Curricular Decisions in Butler University’s Actuarial Science Major

Pages 820-830 | Published online: 11 Aug 2014

Abstract

We describe specific curricular decisions employed at Butler University that have resulted in student achievement in the actuarial science major. The paper includes a discussion of how these decisions might be applied in the context of a new actuarial program.

Notes

1 Four of these exams are jointly administered by SOA and CAS. CAS gives credit for its own Exam 3L to students who pass SOA’s Exam MLC, but not vice versa: SOA does not award Exam MLC credit for Exam 3L. SOA has recently announced that the joint administration of exams will end in the near future.
