Abstract
The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is the world’s largest actuarial organization. This article describes the SOA with particular attention paid to its education and qualification processes and resources available for university and college programs.

Stuart Klugman
Stuart Klugman, FSA, CERA, PhD is Staff Fellow – Education at the Society of Actuaries. He joined the SOA in 2009 after 35 years of university teaching in actuarial science. He works on most all aspects of the SOA’s education system with a particular interest in the modeling of insured events.
Gena Long
Gena Long is the Manager of Stakeholder Relations in the Education area of the Society of Actuaries. Gena has been a member of the SOA Education team since 1996. Her current focus is on academic initiatives and education activities with regard to key stakeholder issues.
