Learning to listen: Critical reflections on “voices”

Pages 474-484 | Published online: 06 Jun 2009

Abstract

This essay seeks to locate unifying themes in the series of essays published in WJC as part of the “Voices” series, a task inherently fraught with paradox in view of the efforts by the “Voices” authors to confront the challenges of the postmodern condition in their own experiences. Believing that the best response to narrative is narrative, this essay concludes with a story informed by readings of the “Voices” essays.
