Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography as an Adjunct to the Diagnosis of the Fibromyalgia Syndrome

Abstract

Ultrasonography can demonstrate abnormal color Doppler findings at the fibromyalgia syndrome tender points. Use of this modality may help with diagnosis, monitoring of treatment, and/or defining other concomitant causes for musculoskeletal pain. Further study of this modality is indicated in people with fibromyalgia syndrome and appropriate controls.
