ABSTRACT

The two-order system model for a vibration acceleration sensor based on metal-ceramic piezocomposite transducer was studied in this paper. The results show that the voltage sensitivity of this new sensor is as a function of the effective piezoelectric coefficient, d 33 e , elastic coefficient, k y , and the resonance frequency, f 0, of the metal-ceramic piezocomposite transducer. The theoretical values of voltage sensitivity were calculated. Several prototypes of this new sensor were fabricated with the sensitive elements being metal-ceramic piezocomposite transducers instead of the conventional piezoelectric ceramic disks such as PZT disks. With different dimensions of sensitive elements, the new sensor's voltage sensitivity was measured and compared with the theoretical values.
