Characterizations of PMNT 68/32 System Synthesized by Microwave Technique

Abstract

PMNT 68/32 system was synthesized in single perovskite phase by solid state reaction route. Calcination temperature for single perovskite phase formation was optimized at 700°C. Microwave sintering of PMNT 68/32 sample was done at 1050°C. Dense, uniform and homogeneous morphology with average grain size ∼1 μm was obtained in microwave sintered PMNT 68/32 samples. Room temperature (RT) values of dielectric constant (ϵr) and dielectric loss (tanδ) at 10 kHz were found to be ∼1050 and 0.55. Occurrence of polarization versus electric field (P-E) loop confirmed the ferroelectric nature of the microwave sintered PMNT 68/32 system.
