Spread Spectrum Clock Generation Using Ferroelectric Capacitors

Abstract

In this paper, a spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) has been implemented with tunable ferroelectric capacitor based voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). Simple sinusoidal waveform modulation results in a uniform spread in the energy with respect to the central frequency of the oscillator. The performance of this SSCG is compared with the SSCG implemented using conventional p-n varactor tuned VCO.
