Abstract

This study presents a simple solvothermal method to prepare YFeO3 nanoparticles with high visible light photocatalytic activity. Metal nitrates as starting materials and ammonia as mineralizer were used in the solvothermal synthesis process. The phase undergoes change from amorphous to perovskite by increasing reaction temperature. The results showed the high crystallized YFeO3 nanoparticles, with average grain size of 40 nm, can be obtained under the synthesized temperature of 280°C. Visible-light photocatalytic experiments showed that the as-prepared YFeO3 sample with higher crystallization possessed high photocatalytic activity.
