Abstract
TiO2 exists in three principal crystallographic forms (anatase, brookite and rutile), but only the anatase form is photocatalytically active and it is changes easily to a rutile-type one, so the technique to easily prepare high yield anatase TiO2 is difficulty. In this present work, anatase TiO2 microshperes were fabricated from 0.15 mol/L Ti(SO4)2 aqueous solution by adding urea (molar ratio urea/Ti 1/5) as additive at low-temperature (90°C) via hydrothermal treatment and characterized by SEM, XRD and TEM,the mechanism of forming microspheres was discussed also.
