Effect of Preparation Technology on the Performance of Lithium Manganate

Abstract

Nano-MnOOH as template reacted with LiOH•H2O at high temperature to prepare LiMn2O4 nanorods. The electrical properties such as charging-discharging performance and storage capacity of lithium manganate were tested by constant-current charging and discharging test and cyclic voltammetry. By changing the proportion of raw materials, reaction time and temperature, the performance of lithium manganate was characterized. The prepared lithium manganate specimens were analyzed by SEM and XRD. The results showed that when the molar ratio of MnOOH and LiOH was 1:2, the average particle size of lithium manganate prepared by heating in tubular electric furnace for 10 hours under 700°Cwas about 87 nm. SEM revealed rod-like spinel LiMn2O4. Constant-current charging-discharging test was carried out for the LiMn2O4 specimens, and the capacity of the specimen was measured as 118mAh/g, which indicated a good electrical performance.
