Synthesis and properties of Pb0.92Sr0.08(Nb1-yTay)2O6 high Curie temperature piezoelectric ceramics

ABSTRACT

Two-step sintering process was used to prepare Pb0.92Sr0.08(Nb1-yTay)2O6(0 ≤ y ≤ 0.09) ceramics. By XRD diffraction patterns, the components were all formed orthogonal tungsten bronze structure of ferroelectric phase. Through the SEM, after doping Ta5+, the ceramic grains obviously formed a closer packed structure. With the increase of Ta5+ content, grain size decreased. The Ta5+ ions added reduced the Curie temperature, which was still higher than 530°C. Component y = 0.01 had excellent comprehensive performance, the piezoelectric constant of 79 pC/N, the Curie temperature of 562°C, the electromechanical coupling coefficient of 35.33%.
