The International Conference on Nanostructured Materials and Devices (ICNSMD-2018) was hosted at the Khalsa College complex, University of Delhi (DU), New Delhi, India, during December 17–20, 2018. The ICNSMD-2018 conference was organized by combined efforts of DU, and Society for Technologically Advanced Materials of India (STAMI), Nagpur, India.

The ICNSMD-2018 provided an active event of interaction among researchers both from education and industrial sides and enabled the delegates to establish new collaborations in the interdisciplinary areas related to the research field of new nanostructure materials and their possible device fabrication for practical applications in fabricating technologically advanced devices. The conference was a testimony of more than 183 participants from 11 countries. It included one keynote presentation, four plenary lectures, and had three parallel sessions with 38 invitited lectures, 70 contributory presentations, and over 75 poster presentations.

The ICNSMD-2018 Proceedings will be helpful to the young researchers, scientists, and engineers in the interdisciplinary areas of ferroelectrics, nanotechnology, and device fabrication in understanding the physics of newly developed nanostructured materials and their utilization in advanced technology. The Proceedings published in Integrated Ferroelectrics Volumes 202–205 presents an indispensable source of information for all researchers working in the fields of materials science, physics, chemistry, nanoscience and nanotechnology, engineering, and bioscience. The content is divided into several subsections including Biomedical & Bioimaging, Dielectric Properties, Electrical Properties, Magnetic Properties, Nanostructured Materials, and Other Emerging Areas. The manuscripts were peer-reviewed, and the accepted manuscripts as suggested by the reviewers are placed in these subsections.

We applaud all the participants for executing the agenda of the conference into an extremely productive event, and we are also very thankful to all the reviewers who throughout the reviewing process put great efforts into maintaining high-quality manuscripts for scientific publications. We appreciate the sponsors of this event including JEOL, Insmart Systems (India), Marine India, AntsLab, Wayne Kerr Electronics, EDAX, AMETEK, Excel Instruments, Anton Paar, American Elements, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and Ekta Marketing Corporation. We especially thank Taylor and Francis, Dr. Deborah J. Taylor and Dr. George W. Taylor for their continued participation and support in the ICNSMD-2018 Proceedings.
