Abstract

A novel mesh-like isolation rings structure metamaterial is proposed and loaded between two dipole MIMO antennas to enhance the isolation between antennas. The rectangular open resonant ring, the double-layer S-shaped open ring, and the new mesh isolation ring are loaded between the dipole antennas and the S-parameters of the antenna are simulated by HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator). The Miniaturized antenna with high isolation is obtained under the same condition that the antenna operating frequency was 2.45 GHz. The simulation experiment verified that the isolation of the dipole antenna loaded with the new mesh isolation ring is 18.87 dB higher than the rectangular open resonator ring and is 4.78 dB higher than the double-layer S-shaped split ring. The mesh-like rings improve the antenna isolation in the experiment.
