Abstract
Sr1-2xNaxSmxBi4Ti4O15 ceramics with x = 0-0.4 is synthesized through sol gel process. XRD patterns of the ceramics confirm single phase formation with orthorhombic structure. Lattice parameters are obtained from XRD and found to be decreased with increase of substitution. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of ceramics are investigated. The piezoelectric activity of the ceramics enhanced with the substitution Na and Sm in A-site made these materials in actuator applications at high temperatures.
