This first part of this volume of Integrated Ferroelectrics features 13 selected papers from The 21st International Union of Materials Research Societies - International Conference in Asia (IUMRS-ICA 2020) which was held online from 23-26 February 2021 at the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The conference covered all fields of materials research which included the following symposia: Electronic and Optical Materials, Energy and Environment Materials, Bioplastics, Biomaterials and Medical Devices, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Structural Materials, Computational Materials Science, Modeling and Simulation, Advanced Fabrication, Characterization and Devices, Instrumentation and Materials Characterization, Rheology, and Special Symposium on Material Enterprises and Industries. Altogether there was a total of 368 oral presentations including 6 plenary lectures, 37 keynote lectures and 84 invited lectures; and supported by 252 poster presentations. The conference was attended by a total of 859 registered participants from 25 different countries.
The selected final thirteen papers intended for publication in this journal were carefully peer-reviewed by the academic team members which are experts in their respective fields. All of these papers can be categorized to be focused on the synthesis and characterization of dielectric, ferroelectric, piezoelectric materials with potential applications in the area of energy harvesting, energy storage, nonvolatile memory, photorefractive and silicon-based integrated devices. The committee would like to give special thanks and appreciation again to reviewers for making valuable comments and suggestions which make these selected papers meet the high standard of the journal. We also would like to express our sincere gratitude to the editorial committee for their efforts on the publication.
Finally, we would like to express additional appreciation to the honorable keynote and distinguished invited speakers, organizing team and staff, sponsors and all participants who together made the IUMRS-ICA 2020 conference possible and memorable.
