Tetyana Lokot (4th author), who was previously listed as a co-author on this manuscript, has had her name withdrawn from the author list upon her request, on the basis that she does not sufficiently fulfil the criteria for authorship. She has stated she contributed to the underlying research project in 2020-2021, that is before February 2022, specifically contributing to the Ukrainian-language part of the news experiment data set, and that she was not involved in any substantial way in subsequent revisions of the manuscript.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on authorship.
