Surface Driven Orientation Effect in NLC Cell

Abstract

The surface driven effect of a director reorientation in a nematic liquid crystal (LC) cell caused by the light inuded anistropy in an aligning material is considered. The anisotropy was produced due to molecular phototransformations onto the aligning surface or into the LC bulk.
