Photoinduced Optical Anisotropy in Amorphous Films of Liquid Crystalline Polymers

Abstract

Amorphous, optically isotropic films of photochromic liquid crystalline copolymers have been prepared and irradiated with linearly polarized light. In this way high values of dichroism and birefringence have been induced.
