Induced and Bounded Reentrant Mesomorphism under External Field Influence

Abstract

On the basis of a broaden version of the phenomenological Landau — de Gennes model of smectic A mesophase it is predicted the possibility of induction and suppression of reentrant phase transitions under the action of an external field. Topological classification of phase diagrams with reentrant states in “field-temperatre” coordinates is performed.
