Abstract
Post-polymerization modification (PPM) techniques are extremely beneficial in terms of designing well-defined functional polymers for various applications. In particular, metal-free PMM based on fluorinated polymers has gained persistent attention of researchers. In this review, we summarized the development of reactive fluorinated polymers. It covers (i) activated esters/amine based on pentafluorophenol ester polymers; (ii) trans-esterification based on pentafluorophenol ester polymers; (iii) para-fluoro-hydroxyl/amine/azide/thiol reaction based on pentafluorophenyl containing polymers. Additionally, we present an outlook on possible PPM strategies that can be used to further construct complex functional polymers.
