At the last congress of social support for the blind in Stuttgart in August 1924 (see report in Zhizn’ Slepykh, No. 5) the Germany system of separate education of the blind came under withering criticism. It was contrasted with the American practice of the closest possible interaction and cooperation with sighted people. The same thing will undoubtedly happen with the deaf.
