Retraction: Ultrasound enhancement of in vitro transfection of plasmid DNA by a cationized gelatin

We, the Editor and Publisher of Journal of Drug Targeting, have retracted the following article: Hossein Hosseinkhani, Teruyoshi Aoyama, Osamu Ogawa & Yasuhiko Tabata, ‘Ultrasound Enhancement of In Vitro Transfection of Plasmid DNA by a Cationized Gelatin’, 2002, Volume 10, Issue 3, Pages: 193–204. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10611860290022624

It was brought to the Publisher’s attention by the corresponding author that there are concerns about the integrity of Figure 2 in this article. However, due to the length of time which has passed since the article was published, the authors do not have the raw data available and are therefore unable to verify the integrity of the work presented in Figure 2. For this reason, the authors have requested to retract their article. In addition, Figure 2 in this article has been re-used from a previous publication by the authors, which has not been cited (Figure 1F from https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168365902004121). That article has also been retracted due to concerns about the integrity of the figures. Based on all this information, the Editor determined the integrity of findings presented in this study are no longer supported. The authors wish to apologise for this.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
